Reading this manga single handedly made me transfer course to pursue a career in art, despite knowing that I might never get a job and be poor for the rest of my life. Blue Period follows the life of Yatora Yaguchi a high school student who for most of this life was told to follow and do what is safe and conventional. But yet for his final year in school he has decided to rock that boat and follow his passion in fine art to pursue a pipe dream in something he’s not even that good in. Blue Period is about the struggle of finding oneself, following one’s passion and mostly art. This is a piece of media that I think anyone with a smidge interest in anything creative should read as it has so much heart and passion in it. Ive read this manga 3 times and every time it still manage to make me cry.
